‘Transitions is a statement—a rug that aspires to be more than just background, proudly featuring its shape and colours.’ — Stephan Vary
Labvert’s aptly named ‘Transitions’ series of rugs captivates with its bold choice of colours and deliberate departure from the austereness of the classic rectangular shape. Taking aesthetic inspiration from the Op-Art of the 1960s, the design explores the interplay between geometric shapes and stark colour contrasts, while the outline of the individual rugs elegantly communicates with their patterns. Conical lines in three complementary colours follow rounded contours, interlocking in surprising combinations. The award-winning design and hand-woven from the wool of mountain sheep in Nepal. As such, ‘Transitions’ creates a high-quality textile landscape that is both colourful and contemporary.
